Trophy Shipping

British Columbia has some of the best Taxidermist Shops and there extensive knowledge on local wildlife is demonstrated in outstanding Trophy mounts. We would not hesitate to recommend Taxidermists we know from personal experience when they produce outstanding Trophy mounts within a reasonable time frame.

Having said that, it is also a fact that it is often much more practicable to ship the Trophies in raw condition so they can be mounted by a competent Taxidermist at home near you and you can check on the mounting process. It is also true that in almost all instances when trophies need to be shipped by Aircargo that raw Trophies will be cheaper shipped then finished mounts not to mention possible Custom charges when crossing into the Clients Home Country.

Air freight is in almost all cases they way to go for the simple reason it is fast, convenient and almost always cheaper then surface freight. For 30 years we have done countless international Trophy shipments and became so familiar and well known about this that we are frequently called by Airline Shipping agents and others asking for advice and/or using our service.

We can ship Trophies after the fall hunting season has ended when we have a bit more time. We make sure that Trophies are (if required mandatory Government Wildlife Act inspections are done), free from tissue, dipped in Hydrogen peroxide if required, salted and dried and properly packaged. During this process we will gather all the necessary documentation including Export Papers, B13s, If required arrange Government Veterinary inspections and permits etc. then custom build a wooden Box (which is mandatory for all Antlers shipped by Air) and deliver your shipment to the nearest Airport, have the shipment inspected by Canadian Customs and insure the shipment and send it off via Airfreight. For this extra service we bill you modest fees. Airfreight charges are directly paid by the Client when he takes delivery at his Airport. The price list for this Extra service is available in our camps.

If you wish to have your Trophies shipped sooner then this could be done by a Taxidermist or any person of your choice with whom you make your own arrangements.

The practice of taking Trophies with you when you fly back home on International Flights is in most cases no longer possible and/or allowed, if in doubt check with your Airline.

Meat

Most of our Hunts are Trophy hunts and we book Clients with this understanding that they will acquire ownership of the Antlers, Horns, Hides and Pelts of harvested Game but the meat will tranfer into Rocky Mountain ownership as soon as the Animal is harvested. At the same time we do not allow our Guides to hunt while out on Hunting expeditions giving us and the Guides little or no time to hunt before the season is over. On the other hand our Guides, ourselfs and many others prefer wild Game meat from Antlered and/or Horned Game over domestic raised animals knowing the product is free from cholesterol and chemicals. Therefore we retain all meat and divide it between ourselves, Guides, private Pilots and varius persons which lend a hand during the year and finally a large portion will go to needy people. Of course the Client is welcome to take a Tenderloin home but if you plan to take all or most of the meat then we ask that you let us know before you bock.

Hunt # 2 while frequently producing large to exceptional trophies is most suitable for the Hunter wishing to take all meat home particular if they drive up to Prince George in there own vehicle and bring a Freezer.
